Yummy You-ness

Happy danceLast Wednesday night I got to attend a much anticipated training opportunity...and I grooved my *ss off!!! As I expected, the Groove Master Class workshops with the talented Misty Tripoli was incredible. Misty has a gift for facilitating and providing insane inspiration.I think one of the things that I love most about her, and why I gravitate to her workshops, is her complete honesty and her way of inviting the refreshing experience of honesty for her participants. Exploring the yumminess of being uniquely, perfectly YOU...the way you are right now!
I don't think I am alone in feeling like there are parts of my being that are in need of some fine tuning. Parts of me (and not solely physical) that I find difficult to stand looking at in the mirror, and be able to say "I completely love and accept you"...and mean it.
"I was born in this (body). Maybe this is exactly the way I am supposed to look (right now). Maybe this is the shape I am supposed to have (right now). Maybe these are the 'flaws' I am supposed to have. And maybe I am supposed to celebrate them! Are they imperfections? Or are they perfections? Because it's you..perfect. You are perfect!" ~ Misty Tripoli
How often do we, as a society, get carried away in the ornamental rather than instrumental beauty of our bodies? Our bodies are AMAZING!  A form built of bone and flesh that can do more things than we can even come up with! They flow, wiggle, grow, dance, pause, move, breathe, stretch, groove and more...and better yet, it feels good while doing so!
I am not suggesting in any way that we don't need goals, dreams, and the stars to strive for.  I am not suggesting that we not embrace change and become stagnant.  I am thinking, how fabulous would it be to stand on the launching pad of 'right now' completely, happily secure and in love with the deliciousness of being unique?
Find some time today to celebrate this yummy you-ness! Move your body in a way that feels good and invigorates your soul. Have a conversation with yourself, and see what lies you have been telling yourself that you can let go of. Then look yourself in the eyes in that mirror and tell yourself the truth.  Right now, exactly as you are, in this moment... you are wonderfully, uniquely, deliciously, perfect.
